As a NJ MVC licensed driving school, we guide students and parents through the entire permit process, including paperwork, testing, and the required 6-hour teen driving course in NJ.

Everything Your Teen Needs to Start Driving in NJ
Getting a learner's permit at 16 in New Jersey involves several important steps. Our team helps you complete everything correctly and efficiently so your teen can begin driving as soon as possible. To get started, the student and a parent or legal guardian must visit our office in person.
What's Included in Our NJ Learner's Permit Program
- Permit application processing through NJ MVC
- Vision test and required documentation guidance
- Scheduling of knowledge (written) test if needed
- 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving instruction
- Permit validation and official documentation handling
- Certificate of Completion – may help lower your insurance premium when your teen is added to your policy
- Road test scheduling – we'll book your child's test for 6 months and 1 day after permit validation, and when they reach age 17
Note: Six full months must pass before the road test can be taken.
This package does not include road test vehicle rental. We offer a separate Road Test Vehicle Rental Service as an additional package if you'd like your child to use one of our vehicles for their road test.
Documents Needed for a NJ Permit
We help ensure all documents are prepared correctly to avoid delays or rescheduling. A parent or guardian must be present for minors.
If the student is a U.S. Citizen:
- U.S. Passport, Passport Card, or Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Proof of Knowledge Test (if already completed)
If the student is a Non-U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident:
- Foreign Passport or Permanent Resident (Green) Card
- Social Security Card, ITIN Card, or Affidavit (if applicable)
- Proof of Knowledge Test (if already completed)

What Happens After the 6 Hours?
After completing the required 6 hours of driving instruction, your teen will receive a validated permit. They must then complete a supervised driving period of 6 months before becoming eligible to take their NJ road test.
